art & river bank では、設立年次（2002年）より、8月15日前後に戦争をテーマとした展示・イヴェントを行ってきました。今年は、戦後70年という節目の年でもあり、対外的にも安倍晋三の談話がどのようなものになるか注目を集めています。 thinking about dogs deathは、名前に象徴されるように、英雄的な死へと偽装されてきた戦死を、あえて無駄な死と捉えることで、戦争における死の意味をもう一度現前できないかという想いによるものですが、その姿勢は、戦争全体に対しても向けられたものです。わたしたちが「終戦」という偽史によって理解してきたその日は、あきらかに「敗戦」の日であり、世界的には「戦勝」の日ということになります。今回、14回目をむかえる当イヴェントでは、「敗戦」と「偽史」をテーマに、あらためて戦争について考えるきっかけになることができればと考えます

art & river bank is holding the exhibition about "WAR" on the 15th of Aug. in every year since the year of our foundation (2002). 2015 is the 70th year after WWII, and Japanese prime minister's comment is gathering attention worldly. "thinking about dogs death", as its name symbolically appears, is based on the thought to reveal the real meaning of death in war by daring to take that as "dogs death", which was camouflaged as heroic death. And we think it will be also meaningful for thinking about war itself. The day which Japanese are recognizing the end of war, that is a fake history, is obviously the day of defeat and Victory Japan day, in the world. This year we set "defeat and fake history" as the theme of the exhibition, and want to make it an occasion to talk and think about war.
